The Syrian legislator gave the consumer protection societies the right to defend the individual and common interests of the consumers in front of all the concerned agencies. The nature of these assigned tasks evokes many questions that revolve around the type of interest that the societies have the right to defend and the granted capacity which authorizes them to initiate a case to defend the consumer's interests. In this research we tried to answer the previous questions through studying and analyzing the historical evolution of the French law regarding the previously mentioned points, and explaining the ability of adopting them in The Syrian law.

أقر المشرع السوري الجمعيات حماية المستهلك بحق التقاضي دفاعا عن المصالح الفردية و المشتركة للمستهلكين. لكن قيام هذه الجمعيات بالمهام الموكلة إليها يثير عددا من التساؤلات، تدور حول نوع المصالح التي يحق للجمعية الدفاع عنها، والصفة الممنوحة لها التي تخولها مباشرة الدعوي في هذا البحث حاولنا الإجابة على التساؤلات السابقة من خ لال دراسة التطور التاريخي للتشريع الفرنسي فيما يتعلق بالتقاط المذكورة أعلاه، وبيان مدى إمكانية الأخذ بها في القانون السوري.
