There is a very strong relationship between Information Systems (IS), and Business Reengineering (BR). That because, (IS) are the main factor which effect business reengineering of organizations in order to solve their problems. By the same time, (BR) is very necessary to achieve the best benefits of using (IS). This research aims to analyze the problems of using (IS) at the Directorate of Education in Lattakia, and to study the impact of using (IS) on reengineering of it's business. The most important results were:

1. The use of Directorate of Education in Lattakia for (IS) is simple,

and depends on storing data in computer.

 2. The Directorate of Education in Lattakia depends on manual

method to offer It's services. 

3. The automation of all activities of the directorate is not complete.

 4. Most of the employees are not a good user of computer.

إن العلاقة بين نظم المعلومات وإعادة هندسة الأعمال هي علاقة وثيقة جدا. فمن ناحية تعتبر نظم المعلومات الأداة الرئيسة لإعادة هندسة الأعمال في المنظمات بغية حل مشكلاتها، ومن ناحية أخرى تشكل إعادة هندسة الأعمال ضرورة حتمية لتحقيق الفعالية القصوى من استخدام نظم المعلومات. يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة وتحليل مشکلات استخدام نظم المعلومات في مديرية التربية باللاذقية، وإلى التعرف على آثار استخدام نظم المعلومات على إعادة هندسة الأعمال فيها. ومن أهم النتائج ما يلي:
