This research purposes to discover that impediments which prevent professoriate. In addition to knowing which of these universities suffers from that impediments than the other by comparing between answers of the professoriate, then putting the suitable resolutions in order to reduce the impediments that encounter the researchers in both the universities. This research uses the comparative method and the descriptive method and one of its tools the referendum which has applied on sample of the professoriate in both the universities, where the number of the sample's members in (the Kuwait university are 40 members, and the sample's number in Damascus university are 142 members). This research concludes many results, some of the important ones:

- The professoriate in both the universities face much material, moral and directive impediments, which cumber the research work with some difference in the answers.

-The professoriate of Damascus University suffer from lacking in the material necessaries of the research work more than Kuwait university's professoriate.

-The professoriate in both the universities focus on deficiency of the research work's constituents in both the universities.

-The professoriate in both the universities suffer from the directive routine and lacking of devices and the necessary tools of the research work.

-The professoriate in both the universities assure lacking of care of the university and the societal institutions about their research work.

هدفت الدراسة الكشف عن المقومات التي تحول دون قيام أعضاء هيئة التدريس في جامعتي دمشق والكويت بأعباء البحث العلمي ببحوثهم العلمية، والتعرف أي الجامعتين أكثر معاناة من تلك المعوقات من خلال المقارنة بين متوسط إجابات أعضاء هيئة التدريس، ومن ثم وضع الحلول المناسبة لتقليل المعوقات التي تواجه الباحثين في ك لا الجامعتين. وخلصت الدراسة إلى عدة نتائج كانت أهمها: يواجه أعضاء هيئة التدريس في كلا الجامعتين العديد من المعوقات المادية والمعنوية والإدارية التي تواجه البحث العلمي مع التفاوت في متوسط الإجابات. يعاني أعضاء هيئة التدريس في جامعة دمشق من نقص في توافر المستلزمات المادية للبحث العلمي بدرجة أكبر من أعضاء هيئة التدريس في الكويت. أكد أعضاء هيئة التدريس في كلا الجامعتين من عدم توافر مقومات البحث العلمي في كلا الجامعتين. يعاني أعضاء هيئة التدريس في كلا الجامعتين من الروتين الإداري، وعدم توافر الأجهزة و الأدوات اللازمة للبحث العلمي. أكد أعضاء هيئة التدريس في كلا الجامعتين من عدم اهتمام الجامعة والمؤسسات المجتمعية ببحوثهم العلمية.
