| Abstract |
The present study aimed to define the reasons sited by a sample of illitesates studying at Literacy and adult education centers in sullanate of oman, the problems Facing their study at these centers and finding the extent of the correlation ratios of these proldems . with certion variables such as, sex, age and social status the sample included 240 attendees at Literacy and adult education centers in Batnen County . The research tool was a questionnaire consisting of 30 items distributed eventy in ti two a dimentions : the reasons sited by illiterates for joining these centers and the most important problems facing their study at these centers . The results showed that the reasons are self realization, derived pleasures from attendance, improving personal knowledge in upbringing their childern and their wishes to continue their learning The most important problems facing the illiterates at these centers are : lack of understanding the course contents and the wide variation in ages of these illiterates in the Literacy and adult education classes . هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى تحديد أسباب التحاق الكبار بمراكز محو الأمية وتعليم الكبار في سلطنة عمان والكشف عن أبرز المشكلات المعوقة لدراستهم والكشف عن مدى ارتباط المشكلات والأسباب بمتغير الجنس والحالة الاجتماعية والعمر . شملت عينة الدراسة على /240 / من الدارسين والدارسات في مراكز محو الأمية وتعليم الكبار في ولاية الباطنة واستخدمت في الدراسة استبانة لمعرفة أبرز أسباب التحاق الأميين الكبار بمراكز محو الأمية وتعليم الكبار وأكثر المشكلات المعوقة لدراستهم وتكونت الاستبانة من /30/ عبارة موزعة
على محورين : الأول : يشمل أسباب التحاق الأميين بمراكز محو الأمية ويشمل العبارات من 1 وحتى 15 والثاني : يشمل أهم المشكلات المعوقة للدراسة في مراكز محو الأمية ويشمل العبارات من 16 حتى 30 وتم التحقق من صحة الاستبانة وثباتها.
أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن أبرز أسباب التحاق الأميين بمراكز محو الأمية وتعليم الكبار يتجلى في : الرغبة في تحقيق الذات ( 91.7 % ) وما تحققه الدراسة من متعة وسعادة ( 88.7 ) و التعرف على ما يجري في العالم ( 86.3 % ) والطموح في مواصلة التعليم ( 84.6 % ) والإفادة من البرنامج في تربية الأبناء ( 77.5% ). وكانت أبرز المشكلات التي تواجه الأميين في دراستهم تتجلى في صعوبة فهم واستيعاب المقررات الدراسية (88.3 % ) واختلاف أعمار الأميين في الصف الواحد (77.5 % ). وقد جرى مناقشة هذه النتائج في ضوء الإطار النظري للدراسة والدراسات السابقة .
