Political Participation and its Relationship with the Self Esteem An Empirical Study on a Sample of University Students

This research aims to investigate the correlation between the Political Participation and the Self Esteem. The sample consisted of 200 university students where they study at the faculty of education. Two measures were used in arder to explore the wanted relation; the first was to assess the Political participation, and the other was to evaluate the Self Esteem. Findings showed that there is no significant relationship between the Political Participation and the Self Esteem. They appeared that the student have a high level of the both Political Participation and Self Esteem as well.

تلخصت إشكالية البحث الحالي في دراسة الأثر المحتمل لمتغير مستوى تقدير الذات على متغير مستوى المشاركة السياسية، وذلك لدى عينة من طلبة جامعة الفرات، وكان الكشف عن هذا الأثر الهدف الأساس و الجوهري للبحث. وبعد استخدام مقياسين خاصين بكل من متغيري البحث، وبعد جمع البيانات وتحليلها إحصائيا، ظهر ارتفاع كل من مستوی تقدیر الذات والمشاركة السياسية لدى أفراد العينة في نفس الوقت، ومن ثم أظهرت نتائج التحليل الإحصائي عدم وجود علاقة ارتباطية دالة إحصائيا بين كل من مستوى تقدير الذات ومستوى المشاركة السياسية.
