The effectiveness of Anabasis syriaca (I.), Artemisia herba (A.), Thymus serpyllum (L.), Mintha viridis (L.), Melia azedarach (L.) and Talk powder at 9% concentration (w:w) with bean grains phaseolus vulgaris (L.) was evaluated against bean weevil Acanthoscelidis obtectus (S.). The effect of these plant powders on larval, pupal development stages and generation period, were significant and the longest generation period were 43.5, 39.5, 36.5 days on the bean grains mixed with Melia azedarach (L.), Anabasis syriaca (I.) and Artemisia herba (A.) powders, as compared to 27 days for the control. The plant powders had significant effect on produced progeny, so it decreased to 6, 13.3, 17, 25.5, 28 and 28.5 individuals, when reared on bean grain mixed with Melia azedarach (L.), Anabasis syriaca (I.), Artemisia herba (A.), Thymus serpyllum (L.), Mintha viridis (L.) and Talk powders respectively, as compared to 81 adults from the control. Results showed a significant decrease in the average of: percentage of grains bean lose, and numbers of laid eggs.
