The study investigates the relationship between selective attention and shallow and deep learning styles. It also investigates the differences in them regarding the gender of the sample members. A shallow and deep learning  styles  test  prepared by  Lubna Jdeed  (2009)  was  used.   In addition, a computerized selective attention test prepared by the researcher (2010) was used  in this work. The sample consist of(200) male and female students for the shallow and deep learning styles test; and (179) male and female students for the selective attention test. The students  were  1$1  and  4th  year  students  in  Psychology  Department, Faculty  of Education,  Damascus  University,  Damascus,  Syria.  The results showed that there is no relationship between selective attention and shallow and deep learning styles. Also, there are no gender differences related to selective attention and shallow and deep learning styles. However, there are gender differences in deep learning styles in favour of females.

يهدف البحث الى التعرف على العلاقة بين الانتباه الانتقائي وأسلوب التعلم السطحي والعميق ,والتعرف على الفروق بين الجنسين في الانتباه الانتقائي وأسلوب التعلم السطحي والعميق وفقا للجنس .استخدام اختبار أسلوب التعلم السطحي_ العميق من اعداد لبنى جديد (2009) ,واختبار الانتباه الانتقائي من اعداد الباحثة (2010) .
