This study tackles the abandoned places in the pre-Islamic poetry from an aesthetic point of view, with focus on the value of the "abandoned", for the abandoned place has transformed into a tragic scene after its inhabitants had abandoned it. It highlights the effect of that transform on the poets as they stand in a desolate place. Moreover, it investigates the poets' inner feelings and physical reactions; in other words, it examines the artistic and the real-life tragic elements reflected by the environmental tragedy.

تتناول هذه الدراسة المكان المندثر (المتأبد) في شعر شعراء الجاهلية ,وذلك من وجهة نظر القيم الجمالية ,وبالالحاح على قيمة (المأسوي ),اذ أن كان المكان المتأبد يتحول الى منظر مأسوي بعد رحيل أهله عنه .والدراسة تلح على تأثير هذا التحول في نفس الشعراء عند وقوفهم في هذا المكان الموحش المتأبد,وتبحث كذلك عن عواطفهم الداخلية ,وعن رد فعلهم الحركي ,أي تبحث عن (المأسوي) الفني والحياتي ,المنعكس عن (المأسوي) البيئي .
