The study was conducted on 1133 blood samples collected from layer and breeder flocks in the private and governmental sectors. In addition to some samples collected from traditional layer hens in the private sector.

The study was reported 132 positive samples as overall - prevalence 11.6% as total samples using rapid tests technique on slides. The mentioned positive samples were tested using tube agglutination test in order to measure positive titers. The study showed 121 positive samples of 132 positive samples (by rapid test) as overall prevalence 10.7% as the total collected samples which distributed in the commercial flocks. Traditional hens breeding were free of positive cases.

The study was reported the higher prevalence in the Homes and Damascus province. The study was not reported any positive cases in Tartous, Latakia, and Qounitra.

أجريت الدراسة على 1133 عينة دم مأخوذة من الدجاج البياض والأمهات في القطاعين العام والخاص بالإضافة إلى بعض العينات المأخوذة من الدجاج البلدي في القطاع الخاص . سجلت الدراسة وجود 132 عينة إيجابية ونسبة انتشار شام (6 . 11 %) من إجمالي العينات وذلك باستخدام تقنيات اختبار التراص السريع على شريحة ثم تم فحص العينات المذكورة أعلاه باستخدام تقنيات اختبار التراص في الأنابيب المعايرة الأضداد فيها فأظهرت الدراسة وجود 121 عينة إيجابية من أصل 132 عينة إيجابية مفحوصة باختبار التراص وبنسبة انتشار (7. 10 %) من إجمالي العينات المجموعة ، توزعت في القطعان التجارية دون أن تسجل أي حالة إيجابية في قطعان الدجاج البلدي . كما سجلت الدراسة أعلى مستويات انتشار في محافظة حمص ودمشق ولم تسجل الدراسة في محافظات طرطوس واللاذقية والقنيطرة أي حالة إيجابية
