The phenomenon of illegal immigration is fator of concern for the Mediterranean countries of north and south, and this often affects on the relation between them. then, the European states regard this phenomenon is a means to transfer the extremist fundamentalist thought that helps in growth. The terrorist move ments which forms a large danger on its security and stability. While countries of Mediterranean South consider this phenomenon is a tool that contributes in lossing the most of their wealths and in lossing the scientific and professiond competencies that are capable to achieve its growth, prosperity and progress. In the opposite of that, the remittances sent by the immigrants make a major role in improving the economic conditions in their home countries.

تشكل ظاهرة الهجرة غير الشرعية عامل قلق بالنسبة لدول حوض البحر المتوسط الشمالية والجنوبية ,وهذا يؤثر في كثير من الأحيان على العلاقات القائمة بينهما ,فالدول الأوربية تعتبر هذه الظاهرة وسيلة لنقل الفكر الأصولي المتطرف الذي يساعد على نمو الحركات الإرهابية التي تشكل خطرا كبيرا يهدد أمنها واستقرارها ,أما دول جنوب المتوسط فتعتبر أن  هذه الظاهرة أداة تساهم في فقدانها لأهم ثرواتها والمتمثلة في خسارة كفاءاتها العلمية و المهنية المدربة القادرة على تحقيق نموها وازدهارها وتقدمها ,وبالمقابل أيضا تلعب التحويلات المالية التي يرسلها المهاجرون في كثير من الأحيان دورا كبيرا في تحسين الأوضاع الاقتصادية في بلدانهم الأم .
