 Iranian relations are seen as a role model for the region,  where the two countries have close political and strategic relations since the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

They continue to work diligently to promote economic,  cultural and scientific relations to keep the political relations between them.

With the beginning of the Syrian Crisis, the relations of the two countries reached a strategic depth as a result of the Iranian political,  military, and economic support of the Syrian government in its war against the armed terrorist organizations.

The decisive and supportive political position that Iran stands with Syria is unchanged and has not changed since the beginning of the Syrian Crisis.

Iran has used all its relations in all political, diplomatic,  economic and at all levels to strengthen this position and its establishment.

 إن العلاقات السورية الإيرانية ينظر إليها كنموذج يحتذى به على صعيد المنطقة , حيث يرتبط البلدان بعلاقات سياسية واستراتيجيةوثيقة منذ قيام الثورة الإسلامية الإيرانية عام 1979 , ويواصلان العمل بدأب لترقية العلاقات الاقتصادية والثقافية والعلمية كي تواكب مسار العلاقات السياسية القائمة بينهما .

ومع بداية الأزمة في سورية وصلت علاقات البلدين إلى حالة من العمق الاستراتيجي نتيجة الدعم السياسي والعسكري والاقتصادي الإيراني للحكومة السورية في حربها ضد التنظيمات الإرهابية المسلحة، فالموقف السياسي الحاسم والمؤيد الذي تقفه إيران إلى جانب سورية، وهو موقف لم يتغير، ولم يتبدل منذ بداية الأزمة السورية، وقد وظفت إيران مجمل علاقاتها في كل الميادين السياسية والدبلوماسية والاقتصادية وفي المستويات كافة لتدعيم هذا الموقف وإسناده.
