 يتضمن هذا البحث عقود القروض في العصر البابلي القديم. تعد القروض من العقود المهمة قديماً وحديثاً,وهي أحد أهم أوجه النشاط الاقتصادي في ذاك العصر والتي مازالت فعالة إلى الوقت الحاضر,فهي اليوم عماد الحياة الاقتصادية وتقوم عليها معظم العمليات ذات الفائدة .

 والقرض يمكن أن نسميه دين إذا لم يحمل فائدة. عرف الرافديون القدماء نوعان من القروض: قروض مالية تشمل الذهب والفضة, وقروض عينية تشمل الحبوب بأنواعها والتمر. وهذه القروض كانت تتم وفق صيغة قانونية رئيسة , حيث يتم ذكر مبلغ القرض وقيمة الفائدة وأسمي الدائن والمدين وأخيراً موعد تسديد القرض.
