يهدف البحث إلى عرض القضايا المشكلة التي تكتنف واقع النحو العربي وتدريسه، ويعرض لما يشاع عن صعوبته، ويبين دوافع تلك الادعاءات وغاياتها ، ثم يذكر بعض الحلول المقترحة من أجل تقريب النحو العربي إلى أذهان المتعلمين ، ويحاول الإفادة من تاريخه ومن جهود علمائنا السالفين في تناوله، والاستفادة أيضا من النظريات اللغوية الحديثة في تعلم اللغات ، كل ذلك يهدف إلى الحفاظ على تراثنا النحوي، وتمكينه، وتقديمه للدارسين بثوب لغوي معاصر يلائم حاجات أبناء العصر، ويرقى لتلبية متطلباتهم، لأنه عنوان اللغة ودرعها المتين ، وصونه يعني الحفاظ على اللغة العربية التي تمثل هويتنا ووجودنا معا.
