 The research aimed to identify the relationship between separation anxiety in pre-school children and mothers’ anxiety as a trait, and to identify the differences between the sample members’ scores on the observation card for separation anxiety in children according to the child’s gender variable (males, females). To verify this, the research was applied to a sample of (75) mothers of pre-school children, using a note card for separation anxiety through the mother’s observation of her child, prepared by the researcher, and a maternal anxiety scale. The scale was prepared by Spielberger, Gortsen, and Wilson. Spielberger, Gorsuchusene, 1970) They called this list a self-analysis referendum and it was transmitted to the Arab environment by Amina Kazem (1978), Ahmed Abdel Khaleq, and Abdel Raqeeb Al-Buhairi. After conducting statistical treatments, the research results revealed that there is a positive correlation between maternal anxiety as a trait and separation anxiety in children, as well as the presence of statistically significant differences between the average scores of the sample members according to the child’s sex variable (males, females) on the observation card for separation anxiety, and the differences were in favor of females. At a significance level of (0.05).

 هدف البحث إلى التعرف على العلاقة بين قلق الانفصال لدى أطفال ما قبل المدرسة وقلق الأمهات كسمة، والتعرف على الفروق بين درجات أفراد العينة على بطاقة الملاحظة لقلق الانفصال لدى الأطفال تبعاً لمتغير جنس الطفل (ذكور، إناث). وللتحقق من ذلك تم تطبيق البحث على عينه مكونه من (75) أم من أمهات أطفال ما قبل المدرسة باستخدام بطاقة ملاحظة لقلق الانفصال من خلال ملاحظة الأم لطفلها من إعداد الباحثة ومقياس قلق الأمهات أعد المقياس كل من سبيلبرجر وجورستسن ولسن Spielberger, Gorsuchusene, 1970)) وأطلقوا على هذه القائمة استفتاء تحليل الذات ونقلتها إلى البيئة العربية أمينة كاظم (1978) وأحمد عبد الخالق وعبد الرقيب البحيري. وبعد إجراء المعالجات الإحصائية توصلت نتائج البحث إلى وجود علاقة ارتباطية موجبه بين قلق الأمهات كسمة وقلق الانفصال لدى الأطفال، وكذلك وجود فروق دالة احصائياً بين متوسطات درجات أفراد العينة تبعاً لمتغير جنس الطفل (ذكور، إناث) على بطاقة الملاحظة لقلق الانفصال وكانت الفروق لصالح الاناث وذلك عند مستوى دلالة (0.05).
